The Reality Based Training Association, or RBTA, has been on the burners for a number of years. The project is now nearly ready to launch. It is an association dedicated to the standardization and professionalization of standards, policies and procedures for those involved in realistic training methodologies.
Over the past 25 years, too many people have died, been seriously injured or programmed for failure at the hands of well intentioned, yet uneducated trainers. Reality Based Training is a somewhat complicated process that affects people not just on the physiological and psychological levels, but also has the potential to create serious emotionally based experiential references in the brain. Emotions play a huge part in the predictability of future performance especially in the Police, Military, Emergency Services and Armed Civilian realms.
It is the mission of the RBTA to create cohesive training and certifications programs in concert with the world’s top experts in the areas of human performance that can be positively or negatively impacted and effected by those charged with the task of training individuals who place themselves in harms way and into chaotic operational environments.
We look forward to interacting with trainers as well as those on the receiving end of training in the coming weeks, months and years.
