What to Bring:

Attendees are required to bring any conventional patrol duty gear including duty belt and vest to be worn during the practical exercise days. Range quality eye protection is required for practical exercises. If you have training pistols converted to fire SIMUNITION FX Marking Cartridges or Secure Blanks, please BRING them. Firearms equipped for use with UTM munitions will not function in the class. Participants are encouraged to bring a single box (50) SIMUNITION 9mm Secure Blanks for the practical exercises – pistols only. We only use long guns in SWAT specific courses. (NOTE – if you do not have these cartridges, there will likely be enough available with those who do bring them. This is not a “shooting” school where thousands of rounds will be expended – also, Marking Cartridges WILL NOT be used in this class, so PPE for the practical exercises, other than impact reduction suits for scenarios that might go to physical force options, only requires eye protection

If you have training versions of your intermediate weapons such as TASERs, impact weapons and spray, BRING them. Training manuals and supplemental materials on a USB drive will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring a notepad and a pen. Also, for practical exercise days, a fluorescent vest is encouraged since those not immediately participating in the practical exercise (observers) will be required to wear a flouro vest to distinguish between participants and non-participants.
